Kevin Baker was a member of SAPOL’s Special Tasks and Rescue Group for 10 years. He was a skilled sniper and close personal protection operative who also spent 2 years in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom working for a UAE based private security company.
Kevin has witnessed first hand the effects of PTSD both through work colleagues from SAPOL and Iraq, but also his father, who was a Petty Officer on board HMAS Melbourne when it collided with HMAS Voyager.
Kevin is now the General Manager of SmartBar, an ARB Corporation business based at Lonsdale South Australia. His aim is to assist in bringing awareness to the event and its cause, as well as raising the much-needed funds which are so obviously required to assist with improving the physical and mental health of emergency services and military veterans in Australia.
